Faith Journeys

Exploring Faith and Discomfort in the LDS Church

Tuesdays, 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM | $65 per session

Sometimes faith feels complicated

Staying in the LDS Church can be both deeply meaningful and deeply hard. You may love aspects of the community, doctrine, and ordinances, yet also feel frustrated, misunderstood, or at odds with the culture around you.

These mixed experiences can create uncertainty about belief, social discomfort, and ongoing tension between your heart and your habits. This group offers a steady, therapist-led space to explore those experiences openly and honestly — without judgment.

A safe space for processing and understanding

Frustration is not a sign of failure. It can be part of a larger spiritual journey — one that leads to deeper peace and connection.

Our goal isn’t to convince you to stay or leave. Our goal is to help you move forward with clarity and self-trust.

What to expect

This is a therapist-led processing group. That means we combine open discussion with practical emotional tools such as mindfulness, emotional processing, and values-based work.

You can share as much or as little as feels safe. There is no pressure to perform belief or certainty.

Why group therapy?

Healing happens in connection. When you struggle alone, it’s easy to feel isolated or “wrong.” In a group, you discover others carry similar questions and tensions. That shared experience reduces shame and builds belonging.

Group therapy is an evidence-based way to grow through safe, guided conversation. As you listen and share, you gain clarity, strengthen self-trust, and practice responding to discomfort with intention.

You don’t have to navigate spiritual tension by yourself.

Meet the Therapists

Dr. Trisha Weeks

Dr. Trisha Weeks brings both professional depth and lived understanding to the work of navigating faith and belonging. With a doctorate in developmental psychology and years of experience as a marriage and family therapist, she creates thoughtful, steady spaces where people can explore complex emotional and spiritual questions.

Much of Trisha’s work centers on high-functioning individuals who feel stuck or conflicted — often within the context of relationships, cultural expectations, or religious communities. She has extensive experience supporting those navigating LGBTQ+ identities, mixed-orientation marriages, and the tension that can arise between personal truth and faith traditions.

Trisha offers a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore church discomfort openly and honestly. She does not push outcomes or prescribe belief. Instead, she helps individuals strengthen self-trust, clarify their relationship with the Divine, and move toward greater peace and integrity in their spiritual development.
