Because of this, please use email only to request information about our services, or other non-confidential matters.

There are several ways you can communicate with us without having to send information over the Internet:
• in person
• by phone
• by fax
• by mail

Social Media and Technology Policy

This document outlines the social media and technology policy of Wasatch Family Therapy, LLC (WFT). Please read it to understand how you can expect to interact with WFT through the internet.

FRIENDING ON SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES

We do not accept Friend requests from current or previous clients on social networking sites (Facebook, LinkdIn, etc.) for our personal account. Any friend requests will be maintained through our public accounts or proviles s (ie. Wasatch Family Therapy, Dr. Julie Hanks, Wasatch Family Therapy). Adding clients as personal friends on personal accounts can compromise your confidentiality and our respective privacy. We also strive to keep the therapeutic relationship boundaries clear.

Wasatch Family Therapy, Dr. Julie Hanks Facebook pages and @drjuliehanks, @wasatchfamilytherapy Twitter accounts are for sharing of information through blog posts, articles and practice updates. Wasatch Family Therapy, Dr. Julie Hanks or other therapist profiles do not solicit and will not solicit testimonials from current or former clients. All information (articles, blog posts, etc) are available via www.wasatchfamilytherapy.com and therefore friending or becoming a fan is not necessary to access such information.

Clients may choose to follow or not the postings of WFT or any of its employees. We will not follow clients of WFT via social networking. We believe that this can create confusion in regard to whether it is being done as part of your treatment or to satisfy personal curiosity. In addition, viewing of your online activities without your consent and without our explicit arrangement towards a specific purpose could potentially have a negative influence on our working relationship. If there are things from your online life that you wish to share with your therapist, please bring those to session with you where they can be shared and explored together.

INTERACTING

Please DO NOT contact WFT or its employees via DM, chat or messaging on sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, or Twitter. These methods are not secure and we may not respond in a timely manner. Should you need help immediately, please contact us via phone or private voice mail. Do not use wall postings, @replies or other means of engaging with us in public online if a client/therapist relationship has been established. Engaging with us in this way could compromise your confidentiality.

Again, if contact is required between sessions, please do so by telephone. The second best method is via email info@wasatchfamilytherapy.com. Email should be used mostly for administrative items such as changing or confirming appointment times. See information below regarding email interactions.

EMAIL

WFT prefers using email for mostly administrative purposes i.e. changing appointment times, contacting therapist or office to request an appointment, or confirm appointment times. Wasatch Family Therapy and the client should recognize that email is not completely secure or confidential, although we have taken every precaution to keep email secure. If you choose to communicate via email, be aware that emails are retained in the logs of your and my internet service providers. While it is unlikely that someone will be looking at these logs, they are in theory available to be read by the system administrator(s) of the internet service provider. Please be aware that any emails received from you and any responses sent to you become part of your legal record. For this reason, we discourage clients from sending long emails with clinical information.

NEWSLETTERS

WFT shares a digital newsletter via email with those parties interested in receiving the communication. Clients reserve the right to subscribe or unsubscribe to the email as they see fit. WFT and its employees do not and will not track who is receiving or not receiving the newsletter. WFT does not share email or personal information with third parties. It may use emails to notify its subscribers of upcoming events, classes or groups. If you would like to opt out of being notified via newsletter simply unsubscribe at the top of each newsletter, or call 801.944.4555.

CONCLUSION

Thank you for taking the time to review our Social Media Policy.  If you have questions or concerns about any of these policies and procedures or regarding our potential interactions on the Internet, do bring them to our attention so we can discuss them info@wasatchfamilytherapy.com or phone 801.944.4555.

Good Faith Estimate

“Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, please visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 877-696-6775.
